“Madrid Restaurant Closed After Shocking Discovery: Street Pigeons Served as Duck”

A Chinese restaurant in Madrid’s Usera district has been shut down after health inspectors made a disturbing discovery. Jin Gu restaurant, which had maintained a decent 4.2-star online rating, was actually serving customers street pigeons disguised as roast duck.

The shocking truth came to light when authorities raided the establishment following numerous complaints from neighbors about strange odors and questionable practices. During the inspection, officials found plucked pigeons that appeared to have been captured from the streets and prepared on-site. The restaurant’s kitchen conditions were equally alarming – cockroach infestations, meat drying on clotheslines, and rat traps baited with food were just some of the violations uncovered.

Perhaps most concerning was the hidden room behind a false wall in the disabled bathroom, containing about 300 kilograms of spoiled food stored in rusted freezers. Eight additional freezers held unlabeled meats and seafood kept at improper temperatures. The restaurant owner now faces serious charges including public health violations, animal cruelty, and fraud.

Local residents revealed they had long suspected problems with the restaurant’s hygiene, noting persistent foul smells and food deliveries left unattended outside. The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of food safety regulations and proper restaurant oversight.
