A Mother’s Worst Nightmare: A Rollercoaster Ride Turns into a Fight for Life

A family’s fun-filled day at Disney World Florida turned into a terrifying ordeal when a young boy’s heart stopped beating on a rollercoaster ride. Christine Tagle, the boy’s mother, has shared her harrowing experience, which thankfully had a happy ending.

Christine and her family were excited to board the Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Disney World. However, just 20 seconds into the ride, Christine’s five-year-old son, Ernesto, suddenly passed out. To her horror, Christine had to finish the entire ride next to her son’s limp body, unaware of what was happening.

When the ride finally came to an end, Christine pulled Ernesto out and screamed for help. The Disney staff quickly responded and directed her to a hallway where she laid Ernesto down and began CPR. A few seconds later, the staff used an automated external defibrillator (AED) to shock Ernesto’s heart back into rhythm.

Christine’s husband ran out to find help and met a couple, a nurse and an EMT, who continued CPR and kept Ernesto stable until the paramedics arrived. Christine has expressed her gratitude to the Disney staff and the heroic couple who helped save her son’s life.

After sharing her story, Christine urged everyone to get certified in CPR, emphasizing its importance in life-or-death situations. She also issued a heartfelt plea to track down the couple who helped them, and with the support of the Disney community, she was able to reconnect with them.

Ernesto’s father later shared an update on Instagram, revealing that their son has a genetic heart condition called catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia. Thankfully, Ernesto is doing well after surgery and is already back home, asking to ride his motorcycle.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of being prepared for medical emergencies, especially in public places. Christine’s story is a testament to the power of community and the importance of CPR certification.
