As I share this post, I’m filled with a sense of doubt. Will it be read carefully, or will it be overlooked in the vast expanse of social media? Will it spark outrage and inspire change, or will it fade into obscurity? I fear that the answer may be the latter, but I’m compelled to share it nonetheless.
The post doesn’t contain any attention-grabbing images of cute animals or shocking scandals. Instead, it’s a somber reminder of a crisis that’s unfolding before our very eyes.
Thousands of dead bees, victims of the pervasive use of pesticides in our country, lie lifeless and still. It’s a stark reminder that our actions have consequences, and that the delicate balance of our ecosystem is under threat.
The stakes are higher than we might realize. If bees were to disappear from the face of the Earth, our own survival would be precarious.
Without these tiny, but mighty, creatures to pollinate our crops, our food supply would be severely impacted. It’s estimated that humans would have no more than four years to live without bees. The thought is chilling, and it’s a stark reminder of the importance of protecting these vital pollinators.
