Scotty McCreery’s Toddler Steals the Show With Adorable George Strait Cover

Country star Scotty McCreery is passing his love for George Strait down to the next generation—and his two-year-old son Avery is already proving he’s got the chops to carry the family’s musical legacy. In a heartwarming new video, the father-son duo can be heard paying tribute to the King of Country in the sweetest way possible.

The clip, seemingly filmed in a recording studio, captures little Avery belting out a line from Strait’s 1985 classic “The Chair” with surprising confidence. Though the camera focuses on a pane of glass—reflecting McCreery holding his son near a microphone—it’s Avery’s tiny voice that takes center stage. When McCreery asks, “Who sings that song?” the toddler proudly responds, “George Strait!”—proving he’s already a devoted fan.

McCreery, who famously honored Strait with his own song “Damn Strait,” clearly isn’t wasting any time introducing his son to country music royalty. Avery has been immersed in music since birth, even joining his dad on stage as a baby. Last year, McCreery and his wife Gabi fueled their son’s passion further by gifting him a toy drum set for his second birthday.

While it’s unclear if the studio session was for fun or something more, one thing’s certain: with this adorable performance, Avery might just be gearing up for a future duet with his famous dad.
