After his highly charged divorce from Lisa Bonet, Jason Momoa has started a pretty intense lifestyle change. He has chosen a simple and unusual place to live, even though he has enough money to live in style.
Once upon a time, Momoa, 44, and Bonet, 56, were a popular Hollywood pair who were known for keeping their relationship quiet. This made fans curious and eager to learn more about their love story.
Momoa admitted that he first saw Bonet on TV when she played Denise Huxtable on The Cosby Show, which was pretty cool. After falling in love, the future star is said to have told his mother, “Mommy, I want that one.”
Their paths finally crossed at a jazz club in 2005, thanks to friends they both had. For Momoa, it was love at first sight. In a vivid account of the event on The Late Late Show with James Corden, he said, “I literally turned around and saw her, and she went, ‘I’m Lisa.'” “Ahh!” I said to my friend as I turned around. “Man, I had fireworks going off inside.”
This was the start of their journey together, which led to them having two children together (a girl born in 2007 and a son born in 2008) and getting married in 2017.
But in January 2022, five years later, this fairy tale came crashing down when the seemingly perfect pair said they were splitting up after 16 years together. Bonet asked for a divorce in January 2024, two years after they had broken up. People says that they will be officially single by July of this year.
Momoa and Bonet have talked about how their tastes are different. Momoa likes to travel and try new things, while Bonet likes to stay home and do relaxing things like reading, writing, and cooking. After the split, Momoa was sometimes seen living in his camper van, which was parked near the house he used to share with Bonet and their kids. The Daily Mail says that this $750,000 Ford RV became an important part of his life and was often used as a makeshift home while he was shooting away from home.
The fact that Momoa wants to live a wandering life is not a new thing, though. In fact, before he became famous, he and a friend went on an exciting trip through Ireland, living the wandering life.
Recently, he shared a picture of his life in his van on Instagram, showing the environmentally friendly parts of his living space, such as goods that don’t use plastic. Momoa was so clever that he set up a shower with a shower head hanging from the van door and parked the van near a supermarket to make things easier.
Many people might find Jason Momoa’s “van life” strange, but it makes sense for someone who is so carefree and easygoing.
