When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left the royal family in January 2020, it was the start of a tense relationship with the royal family. Since moving to Montecito, California, and focusing on raising their two kids, Lilibet and Archie, the couple’s life has changed a lot.
Their decision to speak out, especially in their Oprah interview and in projects that followed, like Harry’s book “Spare” and a Netflix show, made the fight between the Sussexes and the royal family worse. As a public stand-in against the couple’s claims, Prince William and Kate Middleton didn’t say anything.
As per royal expert Ingrid Seward, Meghan Markle wants two things, one of which is a “groveling apology,” before she will consider making peace. She emphasizes Prince William’s point of view by saying that he wants Harry to truly apologize for the years of disrespect shown to him and Princess Diana.
Even when the whole family gets together, like at the funeral for Queen Elizabeth II, problems still exist. According to Tom Quinn, another royal expert, the couple probably won’t get back together because Meghan thinks Kate should have helped her more when she was a working royal.
New information, like Kate Middleton’s health problems, hasn’t helped the two families get along. People have suggested that the whole family get together, but Meghan’s complaints and unwillingness to move forward are still getting in the way.
While Prince Harry’s trip to the UK for the anniversary of the Invictus Games might be a chance to meet and talk, Meghan Markle’s worries about her kids’ safety and unsolved problems make it very hard to do so.
Because the feud is so complicated and both sides have been asked to say sorry, it seems unlikely that the two couples will be able to get back together.
