After the ground floods caused by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Sandra Bullock was moved to decide to adopt a child.

I felt like my child was in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina hit. In an interview with Hoda Kotb of Today, Bullock said, “It was weird.”

She had been waiting for years to get the call, and it came in January 2010.

“He wasn’t expected; he came as a surprise.” The Speed star, 59, tells CBS News, “I get a call one day saying, “Your spot is here.” she had been filing it for years.

The three-month-old child she secretly adopted from New Orleans in 2010 is named Louis Bardo Bullock. Little Lou says, “I looked at him like, ‘Oh, there you are.'” She said, “It seemed like he had been there the whole time.”He put his hand on the bend of my arm. He looked right at me. He knew a lot. My child is smart.

“The beautiful thing is that I was told over and over again, ‘The perfect child will find you,'” the Miss Congeniality actress says. You will find your children. But you don’t agree with that when it doesn’t happen. When you think, “Where is my family?” When it does happen, you know exactly what they’re talking about.

A few weeks after Lou moved in, Bullock was on stage at the Kodiak Theatre accepting her first Oscar for her major role in the movie The Blind Side.

She wanted to be with Lou at home, but he was on stage.

“All I could think was, ‘He’s home,'” It didn’t bother me much. I didn’t care about being there; I just wanted to get home. After that, I was sewn into the outfit. Since the dress was sewn on, I had to force myself to take it off before I could go home and feed Lou.

After just a few days of marriage to reality star Jesse James ending, Bullock had to raise her baby child by herself.

Bullock said, “I mean, so much had happened.” How can you be sad and keep your child safe at the same time? It’s a baby; they take in all of your feelings. Because of this, I owed it to Lou to keep my sadness out of his first year of life.

“Louis” got all the attention.
She said about her choice to quit her job and become a mom, “No one understands the shift in priorities that comes with having a child in your life unless you have a child in your life.” “It changes on its own…After he came on, Louis took the stage.

A happy and healthy home raised Little Lou. One day, his mother looked up at him and said, “I’m going to have a baby soon.”

Bullock admits that she didn’t want to have more children, but she did listen to her son, who brought up the idea.

That’s when I realized he might know something. “Now that I think about it, it would have happened around the time of Laila’s birth,” Bullock said. That’s how Louis does things. Louis talks in a very strong way. He showed me the way to Lai and is a great boss.

When she joined the family in 2015, Laila was three years old. At the time, she was living in foster care in Louisiana.

The Ocean’s 8 star talked about Laila’s bad experiences at daycare, saying, “She’d be hiding in the closet with all her clothes on or on a bookshelf. She was always ready to leave.” She also told Laila that she was always sure of herself and wouldn’t be “going anywhere.”

Then she talked about a conversation she had about Laila with Bryan Randall, her boyfriend and the father figure to her children, who died in 2023 of ALS. They had been seeing each other since 2015. She quoted her husband as saying, “I think we’ll see a change when she’s been with us longer than she hasn’t.”

He was correct. Bullock recently said that Laila was “not scared.”

She is here today because she was willing to fight. She had a hard time staying true to herself. What in the world is this woman going to do? Some big changes are going to happen because of her.

Lou is thirteen years old and is very sensitive. The star of Bird Box tells people that he is smart and nice. I saw that when they gave him to me. He had a spiritual greatness about him.

Fans are upset that the talented actress is cutting back on her work hours to become a single mother again.

Bullock’s most recent movie role was in The Lost City, which starred Brad Pitt and Channing Tatum and came out in 2022.

“Work in front of the camera needs to take a break right now,” she said. “But I can be creative and part of a community.”
