Olympic Gold Medalist, 73, Honors Late Mother at Memorial

On Friday, the 73-year-old Olympic gold medalist shared a heartfelt moment on Instagram, posting a photo of herself delivering a eulogy at her mother Esther’s funeral. Esther passed away on April 20 at the age of 96.

“Yesterday, I had the honor of speaking at my mother’s memorial service. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do,” Caitlyn wrote alongside the photo. “Every day, I think about how much I miss her. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed, but she is now in a better place.”

In the comments section, Caitlyn’s son Brandon Jenner shared fond memories of his grandmother, describing her as “an amazing woman.”

“I’m so glad I got to say a last goodbye over the phone,” Brandon wrote. “I’ll remember many moments, but one of my favorites will always be when she told me, amidst the billowing smoke in her condo, ‘It’s not the cigarettes that will kill you; it’s the filters.’ She rolled her own cigarettes her entire life, right up until the age of 96. She might have been onto something there. Grandma, we’ll catch up with you on the other side.”

Kylie Jenner, Caitlyn’s daughter, also commented with a series of white heart emojis, expressing her love and remembrance for her grandmother.
