Little Johnny failed his mathematics test completely.

When Johnny’s teacher called his father about his dismal math grade, he faced a tough interrogation. “How did you manage to fail your math test?” his father demanded upon his return home.

Johnny, unfazed, shrugged and offered his defense: “It’s not my fault, Dad. My teacher’s teaching isn’t up to par.”

This unexpected excuse left Johnny’s father bewildered, prompting him to inquire further. “Explain,” he urged.

“Well, Dad, listen to this,” Johnny began. “On Monday, she insisted that 3 plus 5 equals 8.”

“And?” his father prodded.

“Then, on Tuesday, she claimed that 4 plus 4 equals 8. And the next day, Wednesday, she said 6 plus 2 equals 8,” Johnny elaborated. “If she can’t even get simple addition right, how am I supposed to know the correct answers?”

Johnny’s clever reasoning left his father speechless, perhaps even with a hint of admiration for his son’s quick thinking. It’s a humorous take on the age-old dilemma of students grappling with questionable teaching methods.
