Michael J. Fox, the acclaimed actor, treasures his role as a father the most. Married to Tracy Pollan for over 30 years, they have four children together. Fox jokingly told Reader’s Digest that sometimes it feels like he has five kids.
Fox stresses the importance of always being present for his children. He advises, “Always be available to your kids. If you say, ‘Give me five minutes, give me 10 minutes,’ it’ll turn into 15 or 20. By then, whatever they wanted to share might have lost its excitement.” Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991, Fox admires his children for their empathy and strength. His Instagram often highlights his strong bond with them. On Mother’s Day 2022, he praised Pollan, saying, “Our children are beautiful, sensitive, intelligent, empathetic, independent, compassionate, adventurous, lovely people. That’s your fault.”
Fox’s eldest son, Sam, works in the entertainment industry. His twins, Aquinnah and Schuyler, have careers in media and education. His youngest daughter, Esmé, is a student at Duke University. Alongside his commitment to family, Fox is dedicated to Parkinson’s research, having raised over $2 billion for the cause.
