Queen Camilla Stuns in Head-to-Toe Pink Attire Just like Princess Diana Did: Fans Split over Who Wore It Better

In a surprising turn of events at the 80th Anniversary Commemorations of D-Day, Queen Camilla made a bold fashion statement that reminded many of Princess Diana’s iconic style, sparking a lively debate among royal enthusiasts.

Queen Camilla recently caught everyone’s attention by wearing an outfit strikingly similar to one Princess Diana famously wore in the 80s. The occasion was the D-Day 80th Anniversary Commemorations in Portsmouth on June 6.

Camilla stood out in a pale pink coat dress, accessorized with brown shoes and a matching hat. This choice was quite unexpected for a solemn service, as royal women typically opt for dark colors at military memorials.

At the event, the 76-year-old Queen was seen standing beside King Charles and Prince William, amidst a sea of dark suits and military uniforms. Her choice of a bright color raised eyebrows and led to much speculation about its significance.

It’s possible Queen Camilla’s outfit was a tribute, especially considering that she, King Charles, and Prince William were set to continue the commemorations with a visit to Normandy, France. This trip is particularly meaningful as it marks King Charles’ first visit since his cancer diagnosis was publicly announced in February.

The pink ensemble, complete with a Philip Treacy beret, has a French connection as Camilla wore it during a state visit to France in September 2023. During that visit, she and King Charles were warmly received by President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, at Orly Airport.

To complement her outfit, Camilla wore a four-strand pearl necklace with a diamond clasp, the same accessory she chose for the D-Day commemorations.

Queen Camilla’s choice of bright colors seems to follow the late Queen Elizabeth’s tradition of wearing vibrant outfits to stand out in large crowds. At the D-Day event, other notable figures, including actress Helen George and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s wife, Akshata Murty, also wore pink, adding a cheerful touch to the solemn occasion.

However, what truly caught people’s attention was the striking resemblance between Camilla’s outfit and one Princess Diana wore in 1983 during a visit to Newcastle, Australia with then-Prince Charles. While Diana’s outfit did not include a long pink coat and featured white shoes and a bouquet, the similarity was undeniable.

This fashion déjà vu sparked a spirited debate among fans, who took to social media to compare the looks. In a side-by-side comparison photo, opinions flooded in, with supporters of both women passionately defending their favorite.

Team Camilla was vocal, with one fan proclaiming, “Camilla definitely,” and another commenting, “Camilla looks stunning!” adding heart emojis. Yet, team Diana was equally fervent, with comments like, “Definitely Diana,” and “Diana, 100%.”

Princess Diana was known for her love of pink from a young age, and even after becoming a royal, she maintained her signature style. Her fashion choices have become a defining part of her legacy.

Interestingly, both Camilla and Diana’s dresses were designed by Catherine Walker, a designer known for her work with Diana. Walker’s designs were a significant part of Diana’s wardrobe, and her influence remains evident in royal fashion.

This fashion face-off not only brought back fond memories but also highlighted the lasting impact of both women’s styles, keeping the royal fashion legacy alive and well.
