Scout LaRue Willis shared a touching video of her and her father, Bruce Willis, as their family gathered to celebrate Thanksgiving.
In the video, posted on her Instagram Story, Scout extended her hand to her dad, and her face lit up as he placed his hand on hers. She then clasped his hand tightly, captioning the moment with, “My guy.”
Scout, 32, also posted a sweet picture with her dad, resting her head gently in his hand. She looked lovely in a white top decorated with delicate blue flowers and puffy sleeves.
Bruce Willis and his daughter shared a sweet moment, captured in the video.
Bruce Willis has been diagnosed with dementia.
The family celebrated Thanksgiving together, with Bruce’s wife, Emma Heming Willis, sharing a photo on social media of their quality time.
The picture featured Bruce’s ex-wife, Demi Moore, with whom he shares three daughters: Scout, 29-year-old Tallulah, and 35-year-old Rumer. All three were present for the holiday celebration.
Also in the photo were Bruce and Emma’s daughters, 11-year-old Mabel and 9-year-old Evelyn. Emma captioned the post, “I’m grateful and thankful to know this kind of love. Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving.”
Fans loved the family photo and shared their well-wishes in the comments. “Wishing all of you a blessed Thanksgiving. You have such a beautiful family and your work on caregiving has really moved me. Thank you,” one fan wrote.
Another commented, “Happy Thanksgiving! God bless you and your family. The love is evident and beautiful,” while a third added, “Pure love! Happy Thanksgiving, Emma and family.”
Bruce’s family announced his diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD) last year. Initially diagnosed with aphasia, Bruce retired from his Hollywood career.
Scout referred to her dad as “my guy” in her post.
In a statement, the family shared: “To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities. As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”
Later, they revealed that Bruce’s condition had progressed to FTD, a type of dementia that causes “challenges with communication,” emotional problems, and unusual behaviors.
It was recently announced that Bruce’s condition has sadly worsened. Glenn Gordon Caron, the creator of Moonlighting and a close friend of Bruce, described him as an “extraordinary person” but noted that he is now losing his ability to speak.
“Bruce’s disease is progressive, so I was able to communicate with him before the disease rendered him as incommunicative as he is now,” Caron told the New York Post. He remembered how Bruce loved waking up every morning and living life to its fullest, reflecting on how much his friend has declined due to the disease.
