Yesterday, my world came crashing down. A day that was supposed to be filled with joy and excitement turned into a traumatic nightmare. My father, the best dad a girl could ask for, sacrificed his life to save mine and my mother’s.
The media may report on the tragedy, but they won’t tell you about my father’s selfless act of bravery. They won’t mention how he quickly pushed us to the ground and shielded me from harm’s way. They won’t share the stories of his kindness, his love for his family, and his devotion to his faith.
My father was more than just a hero; he was a real-life superhero. He lived his life with purpose, always putting others before himself. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, son, and friend. His passing has left a gaping hole in our lives, and I will never be the same person I was just 24 hours ago.
I want to remember my father for the amazing person he was, not just the tragic circumstances of his death. I want to honor his memory by sharing the stories of his love, kindness, and bravery. He may be gone, but his legacy will live on through me, and I will make sure to keep his memory alive.
Dad, I love you more than words can express. You will always be my hero, and I know you’re watching over us from heaven. Rest in peace, and I’ll see you again soon.
