On May 28, Chase, his father Steven, and 4-year-old sister Abigail set out on a boat trip, but the current swept Abigail away. Without hesitation, Chase jumped in to save her, despite not wearing a life jacket.

Chase’s remarkable swim to shore, using a combination of doggie paddle and floating, ensured their rescue. He ran for help, and an hour later, his father and sister were saved, thanks to the Sheriff’s Office and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
