The sudden passing of 18-year-old Sienna Stewart has left her community in shock and grief. Sienna, who had been living with severe cardiomyopathy since childhood, collapsed at her high school graduation ceremony just weeks before her untimely death.
Despite her health struggles, Sienna had lived a relatively normal life for a decade after receiving a heart transplant. However, she began experiencing episodes of weakness and collapse earlier this year.
Her determination to graduate was evident when she chose to attend her ceremony despite collapsing unconscious just moments before.
With her mother’s pride and support, Sienna walked across the stage, achieving her dream. Her bravery and resilience inspired those around her, and her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched.
Sienna’s passing has left a void in the lives of her loved ones and community. Her plans to attend college and study sonogram tech in the fall will now remain unfulfilled.
As her mother, Saevon, said, “As a mom, you feel so proud because she just fought through something that hurts her. You have to be proud. Till the end, I was proud.” Rest in peace, Sienna Stewart.
